Who We Are
Native Spaces is a design-led studio specialising in Cultural Spacemaking, Cultural Placemaking and the creation of Multi‑Use Venues
Cultural Space Making
Using culture to activate underutilised space, sometimes as a meanwhile use but always meaningfully
Cultural Spacemaking can be short‑to‑medium term interventions that bring relevance, footfall and identity to vacant or transitional buildings through a modular set up or it can be a more long term vision where we create a concept for a space which embeds into a place.
Cultural Placemaking
Using culture to shape the long‑term identity, value and legacy of place
Cultural Placemaking embeds culture into the DNA of a development from the earliest stages. We guide developers, architects and local authorities through the ideation phase of mixed‑use developments and masterplans to ensure culture is integrated rather than applied retrospectively.
Multi‑Use Venue Creation
Designing flexible cultural infrastructure for contemporary cities
The Native Spaces Multi‑Use Venue (MUV) model creates a workspace, marketplace and social space under one roof. It provides a sustainable platform for creatives, independent businesses and communities while maximising the productive use of buildings across day and night.
